Bookmark or Share- McIntosh system work with aftermarket head unit?A single iPod cable comes out of the compartment below the stereo and takes the music, charges the ipod, and pauses when I turn off the car. It works great. I velcro'd the iPod between the center vents, over the hazards switch, for easy access & removal & perfect viewing position.
- Has anyone been able to get sound through the 2008 Aux...Used a cheap aux audio cable ($10 at Circuit City). I have a late generation Ipod Nano, and it works just fine. Although I have to crank the Ipod volume to max, and the car volume to around 7-10. I've tried a MP3 CD player and it works fine too.

When the system is in AUX mode, I play my ipod portion of iPhone, thru vehicle's system and in the HK it's outstanding. I have a 3rd party GPS navigation in the iPhone and the voice instruction plays over the speakers only when system is in AUX, over-riding the music.

Note: When an iPhone is connected as an iPod As an iPod, only Apple Music Library can be played. Other music sources like Spotify, Amazon Music etc. cannot be played.
