- Verb -ing - My English GrammarThe 'verb -ing' is a verb form that ends in '-ing'. It is used in different grammatical structures to serve various functions, from being the main verb of a sentence to acting as a noun or an adjective. It is often used to indicate ongoing action or state of being.
- Verb Forms: "-ing," Infinitives, and Past ParticiplesHowever, each form has a different meaning. The "-ing" and the past participle is bolded in the example sentences below. Notice that the "-ing" adjective refers to a thing and the past participle ("-ed") adjective refers to a person. The ideas are exciting. (This refers to the ideas themselves.)
