Bookmark or Share- Tips for visiting Hobbiton (Lord of the Rings) movie sets(I live 25 mins away in another small popular touristy town famous for its natural soda water spas and theres one or two buses to and from Hamilton a day to here. Ive never been to Hobbiton myself but I know its quite out of the way) By all accounts, its a great place to visit and the drive down from Auckland is quite picturesqe in places.

Then once afterwards, and did the twilight tour where you go around once just before dark, have a hobbit style feast and then get guided around with lanterns where the set is lit up, like a night scene in a movie. It was great.
