- Rotary Hay Rakes | Hay & Forage ForumRotary rakes do a nice job of raking and are a little faster then an old bar rake. But depending on the configuration of a wheel rake, say a 10 or 12 wheel V rake they are a little slower. IMO a rotary does a much better job than wheel rake, but could be a bit slower depending on models. Some have a different opinion.

Plus, when cutting it, you must wait longer to bale it while your coastal overcooks in the sun. I usually do 2 pints per acre of Envy, generic Round-Up. I would apply it when you see the Gordo or other undesirable grass, like Dallas or Johnson, is green.
