Bookmark or Share- Dayton in the 60s and 70s - DAYTON HISTORY BOOKSFrom Dayton, you had Kings Island, LaSourdsville, Coney Island (where I rode my first big roller coaster). The Ohio river and the Cinci Zoo, incidently, still one of the best. Ohio had some of the absolute best county fairs, and I know, because I've lived all over the country, Ohio has the best.

- remember the bakeries - DAYTON HISTORY BOOKS9:36 AM. Henry's Bakery in the 500 block of Salem Ave. (near North Ave.) had the best cream-filled donuts. This was a must-stop location before and after delivering Sunday morning papers. The Cake Box Bakery on N. Gettysburg had the best glazed donuts in the '70s and '80s when Joe Rocky owned the place.
- Town and Country Restaurants - DAYTON HISTORY BOOKSTown and Country Restaurants --. Does anyone remember when L'aburge was the "Yum Yum Inn". It actually is sort of funny that the mid-priced family restaurant built in an expanded farm house with the funny name became an upscale 4-5 star French restaurant. Even funnier is the new restaurant's name "L'aburge" which is French for "The Inn".
