Bookmark or Share- Nastoff/Garthwaite Collaboration Old School Custom S70 ColtWhen I could finally afford to have my Nastoff build upgraded to a full-house custom, I sent it back to Steve in 2007. Steve took ill and asked me if he could send it to Jim Garthwaite to complete. I was very pleased with the collaboration and finished product of these two masters of their trade, as pictured below.

- The story of my Jim Garthwaite 1911 | 1911 Firearm AddictsThe replacement thumb safety doesn't look like a Garthwaite install (he heavilly blended thumb safeties) and the front sight looks off as well-the top looks sloped in your pics and isn't deburred on the edges like Jim would have done. My eyes tell me that he likely didn't do the work the second time around.

You can see the frame was originally cut for a real grip safety...the handcut checkering, parts blending, rear sight work..all looks like his work..
