Bookmark or Share- How to present projects that will soon be published on CV?It depends on the nature of "Soon to be published". For journals that have been accepted, or have been sent back for revisions, you can consider something like
- Is there a difference between "forthcoming" and "in press"?In any of these last three, I could argue that the paper is "forthcoming". So if I'm reading a CV that says "forthcoming", I'll assume that it's forthcoming in much the way some of the papers I've been planning to get around to writing for 5 years are "forthcoming", because if it were accepted or submitted the person would have said so.
- Is a conference paper whose proceedings will be published in IEEE ...I presented a paper at a conference last week. The organizer website has mentioned that selected papers will be published in IEEE Xplore. Following my initial paper submission, there was a selection
- How to cite a working paper, preprint, or manuscript?Forthcoming works (works that have been accepted for publication and are in the publication process) are listed in the References Cited and are cited as references, with "forthcoming." Manuscripts that are not in the formal publication process (e.g., that have been submitted but not yet accepted for publication) and other unpublished work are ...
- Citing a Book Chapter where the book is not yet published, and the ...It might also be possible, in some cases, to contact the author(s) of the other work for their "best guess" as to these things and mark the citation using their words but as a "private communication, publication forthcoming". It is fairly common to mark some citations in new work as private communication, actually.
