FINRA uses information from brokers’ CRD reports to generate their BrokerCheck reports, which are available on its website.
- I have a series 7 and 63 license, I got fired within 3 months of ...Sounds like you may have a claim for defamation but would need to know more on the facts. In my experience sometimes broker-dealers, in order to avoid a costly arbitration, may be amenable to modifying the Form U5 termination language to something less adverse yet still comply with FINRA rules on accurately describing the nature of termination.
- How damaging is "Permitted to Resign" on a U5 form when seeking ...It depends on the prospective employer and the explanation given for the resignation on the U5. The financial services employment market isn't as tight as it was a few years ago when the markets crashed but it isn't a free-for-all either. A negative U5 could easily push your resume out of contention for a job.

D) FINRA requires member firms to “provide sufficient detail when responding to Form U5 questions such that a reasonable person may understand the circumstances that triggered the affirmative response.” This was not done. - The reason for termination on my FINRA U5 form states I was discharged ...I was terminated from my job and was a licensed rep with FINRA. I was terminated for reason unrelated to securities and it states that on the form. However it is also mentioned I was terminated for unprofessional behavior. Furthermore, the company that fired me has a policy to not specify nature of any previous employee's termination externally.
