- Students and Employment - USCISIf you would like to study as a full-time student in the United States, you will generally need a student visa. There are two nonimmigrant visa categories for persons wishing to study in the United States.
- Optional Practical Training (OPT) for F-1 Students | USCISOptional practical training (OPT) is temporary employment that is directly related to an F-1 student’s major area of study. Eligible students can apply to receive up to 12 months of OPT employment authorization before completing their academic studies (pre-completion) and/or after completing their academic studies (post-completion).

Other worker: you are capable of performing a job requiring less than 2 years’ training or experience. Job offer required. Labor certification generally required.
