- What do you consider first day of period? - What to ExpectDoctors will tell you the full flow is CD 1, spotting doesn't count. This ^^. CD1 = first day of FULL/NORMAL flow. Spotting is just that- spotting, and is not considered a "period". First day of full flow is CD1. Also, I’ve learned recently if full flow starts past 5pm, docs say to count the following day as CD1.
