Bookmark or Share- Extension cord for a HH140? - Weld Talk Message BoardsThis topic is probably beat to death, but was wondering if heavy duty extension cords at HD, Lowes, or even HF would be ok for my HH 140? Couple years ago I had my electrician run a dedicated 115v 20A 12 gauge line out to my garage for my compressor. It's dedicated, has its own 20A breaker and the one outlet box with a standard NEMA 5-20 plug.

Go to a local electrical supplier and buy 10-15 feet of 10/3 SOOW cable and NEMA 6.50 (pin) male (plug) and female (receptacle). Cheap enough.

The manual says that up to 50' should be a 12 Gauge cord. That is what I've been looking for but I have come across a problem. The manual says that the welder needs to be plugged into a 20 amp circuit/outlet.
