- Anyone have a Strat with an ebony fretboard? - The Gear PageI have an old Schecter SSS Strat with extra wide ebony board. the guitar sounds and plays phenomenal, but it's certainly not the ebony board alone. 6100s, northern hard ash body, brass trem and those unique fat tapped Monstertones - Schecter have always been masters at coming up with unique, holistic designs that simply rock !
- Strats with ebony necks - The Gear PageA strat sounds just like a strat with an ebony fretboard. Not much difference at all. You don't see more ebony fretboards around because strats have traditionally come with something cheaper, and because a lot of guitar players are quite traditional. For my money, a good ebony fretboard is a lot smoother to play.
