- HP Support Assistant "Software & Drivers" not workingClick open that driver and check the contents. Click open "See Full Details" (If you like, right-click and open the Full Details in a new Tab) Next, Section "Associated Files" > Click Download. The information file will open on your screen. Scroll down and look for OPERATING SYSTEM(S)

Now, I have no touchpad driver, not even the default MS driver. From my Device Manager: I then tried to download and install the latest Synaptics Touchpad Driver from the HP driver area for my laptop model: sp8984.exe

If HP scan is not present then use HP Smart. get HP Smart from the Microsoft store if needed or if you want the newest version. You will have to sign into HP Smart using your HP account.
