According to the 21 owners manual the timing belt should be replaced on the 1.5L 3-cylinder engine at 150,000 miles. Does this engine have a timing belt or is a timing chain used to operate the 2 camshafts? I have only seen this service requirement in the owners manual.

The 1.6L's were the ones with a lot of issues. The 1.5L is no different then any other engine really. All can have issues. Just take care of it and maintain when required.
