- Is it appropriate to use the salutation "Dear All" in a work email?To me, Dear all conveys laziness. A well-thought-out message should have a specific audience that the message applies to. Dear coworkers, Dear minions, Dear Death-Eaters, Dear residents, etc. is not that much more difficult to type. Then someone reading the message can more easily discern whether the message applies to them or not.
- Using "dear", "darling", or "honey" to address a friendI think the word Dear is quite okay while addressing your close friends. I do that very often and it's not so awkward. As for Honey.. that would mean a little more than friends, or extremely close friends who wouldn't mind being addressed anything at all! In the end it all depends on your relationship with the friend to whom you are addressing.
