Bookmark or Share- Barnes LRX - First Season Impressions - Long Range Hunting ForumFinal cull was 35 stags, quite a few of which I shot myself. I ran LRX bullets out of all three of my rifles, a Tikka T3x in 6.5 Creedmoor (127g @ 2,765ft/sec), a semi custom Remington in .270 (129g @ 2,890ft/sec) and a Sako 75 in 7mm STW (168g @ 3,250ft/sec).
- brass: how much does it impact accuracy? - Long Range Hunting ForumYes, different brass can have an impact greater than my tolerance. Each rifle is different+caliber+load is different in it's tolerance. Example: I have 2 loads for my 260 that I can use for matches. Slow: Nosler brass, ~42gn H4350, 140 A-Max. Fast: Lapua brass, ~44gn H4350, 140 A-Max.
- Winchester brass good enough or not worth it?Bought 150 300WM, 100 338WM and 100 22-250. All had about a 20% cull rate with pleated necks and shoulders, flash holes not centered or round, even some with 2 distinct flash holes. I fired 10 of the 338WM brass to get a volume average and was shocked to see neck splits on 3 pieces. The volume also varied quite a bit.
- 200g ELD X in a 300wsm - Long Range Hunting ForumColorado. Jun 1, 2020. #1. What have your experiences been with the 200g eldx in the 300 mag velocities for elk, mule deer, and black bear? I have an unopened box and thinking about giving them a whirl this year. Not concerned necessarily about long range performance as all my shots will probably be less the 500 yards, probably inside 300 yards.

It's a confusing term because deer hunting estates are often called 'deer forests' traditionally in Scotland. This is a confusion of the native gaelic word fores which means a barren and harsh land, the word for a forest with trees in gaelic is collie - like the dog. I digress.
