- Mystery bump. - The Labrador ForumMy 5/12 month old lab (Luna) developed an odd looking bump on her head. Began white with what looked like a skin tag, then became red, and now has a crusty yellow scab on it. It got bigger for about three days and then I’d say it’s remained the same except maybe now mostly a scab.
- Dandruff, dry flaky skin - The Labrador ForumThe vets in my area advise bathing for itchy skin. One vet said they've changed their opinion, that itchy skin has higher fungal load and bathing with the appropriate shampoo reduces the fungal load and removes environmental allergens.
- Scabby nose - The Labrador ForumThis sounds like Hereditary Nasal Parakeratosis which is a genetic condition of Labradors. It is relatively common and most vets will have several patients with it.
- Nipple swollen - hard, black and scabby | The Labrador ForumObi had a similar lump on his chin recently - weeping, black and crusty. We took him to the vet pronto and it turned out to be an infected wart (infected from him scratching at it). We had to bathe it in very dilute Betadine. It looked pretty sinister until it started to heal properly. All good now though.
