- The Conference Board Leading Economic Index® (LEI) for the U.S. Inched ...The Conference Board Lagging Economic Index® (LAG) for the U.S. was unchanged at 119.5 (2016=100) in August 2024, after a decline of 0.1% in July. The LAG’s six-month growth rate softened further to 0.3% over the six-month period ending in August 2024, after a 1.1% increase over the six-month period from February 2023 to August 2024.
