Bookmark or Share- 1871 Richard conversion revolvers | Colt ForumAFAIK, .44 Colt was the only cartridge these were chambered for. I bought one of the Cimarron copies that is chambered for .44 Russian/Special as well as .44 Colt. Much like the .45 Colt, the .44 Colt had a very slight rim (.485") and cartridge dia was .450"-.455" on a few I just measured.

The floorplate fell out of the first magazine on the third shot. So I put in the second magazine and fired a couple rounds before the front sight went tumbling off into the tall grass, never to be found again.
