Bookmark or Share- Colt Army 1917 What do you think? Is this correct? Is it...The fit of the side plate doesn't look right to me and the "rampant colt" stamp on the side plate is VERY weak. I agree that the right grip panel has been heavily sanded but replacement grips show up on eBay and Gun Broker from time to time.The deep scratches on the bottom of the frame at the barrel might indicate the barrel has been monkeyed ...

- Colt Website Serial Number Manufacture Date LookupUsing the old Colt database I got nothing returned until I input the SN as 70N20258. That returned as a 1974 GCNM. Inputting it that way on the new database the same way gets the same result however, inputting it as 20258N70 I get two records; both 1982; one listed as a Gold Cup National Match, and the other as a as a Blue Gold Cup.

- Anyone Have Experience With Colt SAA Calvary...Many years ago, at a large gunshot, I was offered a Colt Calvary SAA with a bright fire blued barrel and cylinder. None of the "Colt Experts" would touch it. I had a good feeling about it but little knowledge. I bought it on a whim. Then I bought a book dedicated to Colt SAA revolvers. It was a Condemned Calvary from the 1870's/1880's.
