Sigmund Eisner was one of the premier suppliers of clothing to the military during the war and it wouldn't surprise me if that contract wasn't set up for earlier material by the Roosevelt administration. Your coat is in exceptional condition.

Point has been modified for unknown reason. According to the "story" when I acquired this specimen, it was carried by a soldier during WW2 in Burma. Not impossible but unverified.
- WWII cold weather head gear - UNIFORMS - U.S. Militaria ForumI believe the wool hood is the one issued with the gasmask for chemical protection.I have several and they all have a chemical treatment to them.They feel tacky to the touch.I see these hoods worn more as a cold weather item under the helmet.THere is a well published photo of a 17th Abn trooper wearing one during the battle of the Buldge.
