Baze specifically points out that Chirrut is still devoted to the religion (in contrast to Baze's own apparently jaded opinion of it).
- Was Chirrut Îmwe a Jedi, Force-sensitive, lucky, or something else?Chirrut Îmwe is established as a non-Jedi upon his introduction, but he is probably Force-sensitive. He is a Guardian of the Whills, part of an order on Jedha that we currently know nothing about (because of the Disney retcon; the Whills, pre-retcon, were the group that taught Qui-Gon how to become a Force Ghost ).
- Could Chirrut Îmwe have constructed a lightsaber out of Jyn’s kyber ...Assuming Chirrut is indeed Force-sensitive, then he can definitely build a lightsaber, given enough time to train to the level of proficiency in the Force needed to build one. The Clone Wars series has shown that trained younglings are capable of constructing one within seconds.
- What is the nature of Baze and Chirrut's relationship?In Rogue One, we (briefly) meet the characters Chirrut Îmwe and Baze Malbus. They are both Guardians of the Whills and have history, but the exact nature of their relationship isn't explicitly said on-screen. I had a friend who thought they were brothers, but I know they're not related.
- comics - What does Chirrut mean by "The strongest stars have hearts of ...also remember that Star Wars != Star Trek and Chirrut comes from a religious order. It is possible that 1) the composition of stars is not well studied in this galaxy long ago and far way and 2) Chirrut is repeating a legend / understanding he believes, not necessarily a scientific fact. His order reveres the Force and the kyber.
