- 10 bolt rear end. - Chevy Nova Forum8.5 10 bolt is superman without he's uniform. It's as strong as 12 bolt. I've seen people run 454 and 427 engines on 10 bolt rear end. You should be fine. Even if it couldn't handle it a fresh rebuild will solve the proplem.
- Differences between Chevy 10 bolt and BOP 10 boltYou can use a chevy ring and pinion in a bop rear with a sleeve kit for the pinion , BUT you must have the smaller bolt carrier BOP unit from the early 65-67 cars. 70-72 were 7/16 left hand bolts again. and in 1971 1972 Buick and olds went with a 10 bolt 8.5 rear with bolt in axles for the A-body cars.
