Carhartt jackets aren't designed with riding position or wind-resistance in mind and have no armor. I think they'd hold up ok in a light crash if by chance they stayed zipped and in place, which they are also not designed to do. #2. Twinsteel, Feb 12, 2010. More @Wikipedia
