If you get the message, "Dictation can't hear you," or if nothing happens as you dictate, try these: Make sure your microphone is not muted. Move to a quieter location. Adjust the input level of you microphone.

- Transcribe your recordings - Microsoft SupportThe transcribe feature converts speech to a text transcript with each speaker individually separated. After your conversation, interview, or meeting, you can revisit parts of the recording by playing back the timestamped audio and edit the transcription to make corrections.
- Insert a caption for a picture - Microsoft SupportThe Insert Caption feature in Word makes it easy to systematically add captions to pictures in a document.
