- FAL/L1A1 gas tube looseness - Pennsylvania Firearm Owners AssociationHi Guys, hope you all can help me with my question: I have a British L1A1 (same as a FAL actually) , i havent shot it in years ,so the other day i decided to give it a good cleaning in anticipation of taking it to the range soon, while cleaning it i noticed that the gas tube sits a bit loose on the ports not by much but i can use my fingers to rotate it a little say about 180 deg. no end play ...
- German Mauser ?/Third Reich stampsIt's got Century Arms Int'l lasered on the bottom of the barrel. I don't trust CAI, i have bought and sold a few of their rifles with varying degrees of quality, but I'm wondering if this is legit. Any thoughts? It's what I think is a reasonable price for what could be (IMO) a really cool piece of WWII history. Does the CAI stamp ruin any value?
- FAL Noob - Pennsylvania Firearm Owners AssociationRifle #1 as far as I can tell is definately built off of a British parts kit. just about all parts have the "DE" logo or UA or UB stamped somewhere on them. It is a CAI build, but it appears to be pre 922r days. Side of upper reciever is stamped L1A1 and really tiny "sporter" Cal .308 then beneath that CAI blah blah blah.
- CETME vs. PTR 91 - Pennsylvania Firearm Owners Association(CAI was know to do this instead of putting in the right rollers) google how to check bolt gap if you dont know. i would stay away from the GI PTR's they are the "cheap" ones, and ive seen problems with the fluting and other issues.
