- Boating and Fishing Forum - question for kite fishermen - The Hull TruthI recently lost a kite as an in-line swivel busted while fishing. I came across this video which demonstrates how wax whips can be half hitched in-line and obviate the need for tying in swivels. I never liked the idea of using swivels as they can fail and so can the knots. My question is has anyone else used this method for rigging their kite rods?
- The Hull Truth - Boating and Fishing Forum - pressed in Hub vs ...I actually wouldn't worry about that. Heavy isn't the term, I don't think. It's torque. The hubs I've spun have been on a 225 Mariner on an SKA 27' Fountain (those hubs were getting abused by having the props barking a lot) and 3 times on a Suzuki DF300, which is probably the torque-y-ist "normal" production engine that uses a pressed hub.

I had a busted tail light one time and he just said "let me see" walked to the back and gave me another one for free. Luckly my dealer had his trailers on hand so they just had to swap a trailer from another boat. Ladders on the guide posts are a nice option.
- Boating and Fishing Forum - The Hull TruthIn the last ten years I have had 8-9 different minnkota's on different boats. Three being ulttera self deploy units and I have only needed repairs twice out of all the units. Both times were my fault from bouncing the bottom getting to close to the beach with a 28' boat (busted the trim belt on the ulterra).
