- BUIS, Optional or Manditory? - AR15.COMSo currently, my "BUIS" is just a an Aimpont T2 on a Scalarworks mount, pre-zeroed for my rifle, and thrown into my pack. If my primary goes down, ive got a second optic that can take it's place in a matter of 15 seconds. The reasoning is:-A free float handgaurd can be knocked hard enough to ruin a BUIS zero, even under regular use.
