- Use Companion mode for hybrid learning & collaborationSet up breakout sessions when you connect with Companion mode; Assign people who are on Companion mode to breakout sessions. Important: People on Companion mode can’t speak or hear in breakout sessions and you can’t assign meeting-room hardware or Nest Hub Max to breakout sessions. To set up breakout rooms in hybrid meetings, choose an option:

Tip: To prevent students from having the ability to create breakout rooms, admins should reserve Meet creation privileges for faculty or staff only. In the Breakout rooms creation panel, choose the number of breakout rooms. You can create up to 100 breakout rooms in a call.
