Bookmark or Share- Is it safe to use CLR on a bottle? | Antique Bottles, Glass, Jars ...It usually removes rust, though it may require a day or two of soaking. Sometimes the rust deposit is too "stubborn" and CLR merely reduces the deposit's intensity but doesn't make it vanish. The biggest problem with CLR happens when using it to clean dug bottles which are stained with deposits of calcium, etc. on the bottle's surface.

I'm thinking my aunts dug foundations in the 1950s in southern Maine, after the fires of 1947.
- Dyottville? | Antique Bottles, Glass, Jars Online CommunityI have this plain 3-piece mold bottle. I’m trying to convince myself it might be a Dyottville whiskey, possibly Kensington. It looks like a “grooved double ring” top. Any ideas? Second photo shows mine against some known Kensington’s. I can’t make out the words on the base.
- Conti bottle | Antique Bottles, Glass, Jars Online CommunityNot a perfume, olive oil, most likely - fairly common shape for 1930's era olive oils and similar food bottles, the Conti brand is still in use today. I'd get rid of the rust blob that was the cap if you don't like it; it doesn't add anything to the value.
