Bookmark or Share- Question on milk bottle size? And type for lid. Byrne Dairy.I collect milk bottles from the dairy manufacturing company that I work for. (Byrne Dairy in Upstate New York). Pictures of my collection attached. I recently acquired a few very large milk caps. These are 3-3/16" in diameter pressed paper "perfection pull" caps, Or often called "common sense" caps.
- 1800's bottle | Antique Bottles, Glass, Jars Online CommunityThis technique of bottle making was already being phased out (in the USA) around the 1850's, so your bottle is most likely from the pre-civil war era. Very neat! And believe it or not some countries, such as France, continued to make utilitarian bottles with this technique through as late as the 1870's!

I used to catalog all the different numbered Heinz jars I found, most were from 1910-1930 and held all manner of relishes, sauces etc. Was up to about 20 diff ones, gave that up a while ago.

- Conti bottle | Antique Bottles, Glass, Jars Online CommunityNot a perfume, olive oil, most likely - fairly common shape for 1930's era olive oils and similar food bottles, the Conti brand is still in use today. I'd get rid of the rust blob that was the cap if you don't like it; it doesn't add anything to the value.
