- 1949 kb5 wiring troubles | BinderPlanet.comPoints. 1. Mar 30, 2022. #1. Hi everyone. We have a 49’ kb5 that has been “mostly” converted to a 12 volt system. They’d put a 12 v battery in, swapped the generator for an alternator and hooked up the horn. That’s it. The wires were BAD and so, not being terrible comfortable with the job, I tediously replaced them, one wire at a time.
