Bookmark or Share- Thoughts on Beatles 2009 Remasters? - Steve Hoffman Music ForumsPersonally, I find the 2009 Mono Remasters to be the best sounding Beatles CDs ever. However, a much different mastering approach was used with the Stereo Remasters, resulting in a harder, more modern sound.

- The "Beatles For Sale" album (1964). Unfairly ignored or underratedSo yeah I love Beatles For Sale, I love all 10 originals including non LP single, & the 4 mid 64 McCartney tunes they gave away. The 6 covers actually 7 are great. My favorite early Beatles album, their 4th studio album, & my favorite until their 6th album Rubber Soul in late 65.
- Which "Beatles For Sale" LP should I buy? 2014 Mono or 2012 StereoThe 2014 mono reissue is the best mono rendering I've ever heard for Beatles For Sale. I still like the stereo mix better, at least as it sounds on a UK Parlophone stereo press vinyl record. Can't say about the 2009 vinyl -- haven't heard it.
- The Beatles “Beatles For Sale”-pressings you likeFor Beatles For Sale, the matrix number on the deadwax (the area of the record between the music grooves and the label) will read YEX 142-1 on side 1 and YEX 143-1 on side 2 if it's a tube cut. If it reads something else (e.g. 142-2) it's a solid state cut.
