Bookmark or Share- Project management goal: Track progress - Microsoft SupportWhen you track the progress of your schedule, two things will help you the most: Create a baseline before your project gets started. Use the right views to see how things are going. With these two steps, you have the best chance of leading a successful project.
- Create or update a baseline or an interim plan in Project desktopGo to Schedule in the Quick Launch, then on the Task tab, in the Editing group, click Set Baseline, and then click the numbered baseline you want to use for the current project data. You can save up to 11 different baseline data sets, including the unnumbered Baseline.
- Review the progress of your schedule - Microsoft SupportIf you have set a baseline for your project, you can see how tasks progress over time and see whether their start and finish dates are slipping. You can track progress by comparing baseline and scheduled or actual start and finish dates. On the View tab, click the arrow on Gantt Chart, then select Tracking Gantt.

- Baseline0-10 Estimated Start fields - Microsoft SupportWhen you set a baseline, Microsoft Project copies the Scheduled Start dates for a task or assignment and stores them in the Baseline Estimated Start fields (Baseline Estimated Start to Baseline1 Estimated Start through Baseline10 Estimated Start).
