Bookmark or Share- pistol permit DENIED - New York Firearms ForumSorry to hear your permit application was denied. Notwithstanding the 6 month timeframe, it boils down to the judges discretion. I believe for an appeal of his decision you will have to demonstrate he somehow treated you unfairly or his decision was somehow biased (I'm not a lawyer so this may not be the case).

Their office filed the appeal for me after I paid retainer. several days later I received a letter from the court clerk for my appeal date in December 17.

He basically said your not going to win that and its cheaper to just re-apply. He said i can try to write the judge a letter and ask for more information regarding the denial and that i am thinking of doing an article 78.

While I understand the decision, I think I have changed a lot as a person and want to try and meet face to face with the Commanding officer to further discuss this issue. I will be sending in my appeal via mail this week.

I'm frustrated because my would be coworkers with carry permits are making $100,000+ with excellent benefits (lots of overtime) and I should have started the job working with them well over a year ago.
