Bookmark or Share- Hornady A-MAx Bullets - any good for hunting?Ive shot a huge bodied muley at 30 yds with a 178 Amax out of my 308 (aprox 2435 fps) and it was perfect bullet performance. Marble size entrance, entry side ribs had golf ball size entry hole, lungs and heart were soup, and then golf ball size exit hole through exit would side, including broken set of ribs on exit wound side.

I took an antelope at over 900 yards last year with a .260 (140gr Amax) and it never took a step. I have shot many deer, antelope and elk from ranges of 60 yards to over 900 with an Amax (.264 and .308) and have never lost an animal. The Amax seems to devastate at any feasible ...
