Cylinder heads are arguably the most important link in the "power chain", so it is certainly worth its own dedicated area for discussion.
- Best street/strip plug for Vortec heads? - NastyZ28.comI have access through a dealer portal for NAPA and can look up any part they list. This is where I researched the plugs for the Vortec head. I found, as a bonus, the Autolite plugs are slightly shorter than most plugs, but not as short as Accel shorty. There are several more listed if you want Platinum, Iridium, copper core, etc.

Selecting Step up springs with a vacuum gaugeI can change jets, rods, accel pump shot and only affect the areas that those parts control but if I change the stepup springs to the wrong ones the car can become almost undriveable at times. Im talking 1"Hg changes can make a big difference with those springs. With 10"Hg of vacuum you must a pretty large bump stick in there.
- Correct Shorty Spark Plug?? - NastyZ28.comI run the Accel 576S which is a shorty plug. It's a somewhat 'hot' plug which is what you want on the street, otherwise you'll foul them pretty quick just cruising around. It's about the only Accel plug I can use without fouling them. I had to try 3 different heat ranges before I found what will survive. What reach plug does that AFR head specify?
