Bookmark or Share- Erin or Aaron? — The BumpErin derives from the word for Ireland and Aaron is an old testament name. I agree with pp, that I would not think a girl named "Erin" honors a guy named "Aaron." FWIW, I grew up saying Aaron and Erin as the same (in Ohio), but moved to a region (the East Coast) where they are said differently.
- Alison or Allison? — The BumpI like the spelling Alison (it's traditional, Scottish, German, similar to Alice -to honor a family member, which is why we have chosen Alison/Allison). But, I don't like Ali for a nick name bc to me it's pronounced Ah-li instead of Allie like I prefer. So, give me your thoughts on the spelling and nick name spelling as well, please.
- What's your favorite.... — The BumpThe one we are using ;-). If you're asking what the favorite is for either a boy or a girl - I love Carter and Blake and Reese (although Rhys for a boy).
- Alan, Allan or Allen. Which is the original spelling?Alan. I think Allen is the spelling for the last name, at least that's what I've noticed
- How do YOU pronounce Erin?? - The BumpYour responses are really going to depend on regional dialects more than anything else. I'm in the deep South. Here, the beginning sounds of Aaron, Erin, errand, airplane, etc are all pronounced exactly the same. I've heard a couple of people pronounce Aaron the way you described (ahh-ron) but they were my friends from New Jersey and New York.
