Bookmark or Share- 2023 WNBA MVP - The BoneyardBased on my post from three years ago, only once has a player won a WNBA MVP without being in the Top 6 for both Win Shares (WS) and Player Efficiency Rating (PER). This season there are 2 players who met that criteria: A'ja Wilson - 1st WS and 1st PER Breanna Stewart - 2nd WS and 2nd PER...
- A'ja Wilson says Stewie "is my role model"......dare we hope???Stewart and Wilson.... if Wilson comes to UCONN she will be a Freshman while Stewart is a Junior. What other tall powerhouses can I think of that played at UCONN together that were two years apart..... Thats right Lobo and Wolters. Now, that has me smiling. To think of Stewart and Wilson as the next Lobo and Wolters combo.
- 2024 WNBA Season: Part 2 (August ---) | Page 34 | The BoneyardA'ja Wilson's non-MVP 2023 season: 22.8 points (3rd in league), 9.5 rebounds (2nd in league), 2.2 blocks (1st in league). 1.4 steals (9th in league), 55.7% FG (3rd in league). Stats are almost all better this year, but the team was far better a year ago. Aces last year went 34-6, this year they'll likely finish about 25-15.

The way Wilson wears her uniform is not relevant to critiquing or praising her game. The title of the Thread is “A'ja Wilson's play” not “A’Ja Wilson’s Uniform- does she wear it well enough? ”
- Can we start making the case for Pheesa as MVP??? - The BoneyardPhee is gaining ground. A lot will depend on how A'ja and Phee play over the last 9-10 games. A'ja had such a great start to the season that she left everyone in the dust. Now that we are back from the Olympic break, Phee has been red hot and A'ja has maintained her solid all-around play.
