Bookmark or Share- Replaced safe keypad battery, now code won't open it.I have a Winchester safe with a La Gaard digital keypad. I check it every month. Last night, entered the code, and the battery light blinked four times. So I went about replacing the battery. Just to be safe, I locked it with the door open. Lo and behold, after replacing the battery, it will accept the code, but I cannot unlock the mechanism.

My father purchased this gun from a PA State Trooper in the 1950's. This was to be Winchesters most advanced lever action rifle replacing both the Model of 1886 and the Model of 1895 and using a brand new cartridge - the .348 Winchester.
