The United Feature Syndicate was one of the leading Comic Strip services for its eight decades of existence. It was formed in 1931 when the Pulitzers' New York World newspaper was acquired by Scripps-Howard (owners of the New York Telegram ), which also gained control of the paper's syndication arm (known as Press Publishing Corporation).
