Bookmark or Share- Best variety with high acid taste - Tomatoville® Gardening ForumsIn the black tomatoes Berkley Tie Die Pink is fairly tart. One of my favorite reds that falls in that category is Druzba and it has been very productive as well as tasty. I'm growing Atkinson for the first time in a very long time. It used to be one of the favored tomatoes around here before fusarium got so bad.
- Using only Bloom formula for Hydroponic Tomatoes - TomatovilleTomatoes 4-18-38 Cucumbers 8-16-36 Strawberries 10-8-22 They were speaking of using these values for the whole grow, vegetative and blooming starting with weak to stronger PPM during the grow. I am going to be using General Hydroponics MaxiGro and MaxiBloom Series with added CalMag. The NPKs are: MaxiGro 10-15-14 MaxiBloom 5-15-14
- Favorite red tomatoes? - Tomatoville® Gardening ForumsThere are several very good red tomatoes though they tend to have more robust flavor than pink varieties. For a large slicer, I enjoy Cuostralee, Neves Azorean Red, Nepal, and Akers West Virginia. For an early variety, Bloody Butcher is hard to beat.
- OP tomatoes that don't crack & split? - TomatovilleFrom my experience, many smaller tomatoes don't have a lot of cracking, but they still may be susceptible to splitting. "Even watering" is a good objective, but one can't control the rain, and many varieties crack and split very badly in containers, especially earthtainers (with constant high moisture).
- tomatoes & oyster shells - Tomatoville® Gardening Forumsi have had in the past a problem w/ my tomatoes rotting from the bottom about the time they get ripe. i have been told the stuff ya spray on em to prevent this is calcium, and that if ya will put some oyster shells (like for chickens) in the ground around your tomatoe plants, that it will prevent the rotting from the bottom.
