Bookmark or Share- How to make phrase sentence about availability for a meeting[I have been asked by the OP to post my comment as an answer. Initially I decided not to because it had already been posted by Peter, but as I disagree with part of Peter's answer (see my comment below his answer), I thought it may be useful to post my own suggestions.]
- prepositions - In the morning VS on the morning - English Language ...on Saturday : Are you free on Saturday to come for a dinner? on Monday. In + "the" +"noun which is a time label stands for a short time( usually some point of the day)" in the morning: he is the type who would wake up in the morning. Why do you see "On the morning"? this is mostly comes from " on Monday morning ". but "On the morning" is incorrect.
- When is "Next Saturday"? - English Language Learners Stack ExchangeIt usually is the Saturday that falls on the coming week. "I'll see you next Saturday" This means that the speaker intends to meet the listener on the Saturday, in the next week. If he had wanted to convey to the listener that he wanted to meet the latter on the Saturday of the same week, he would've said: "I'll see you on Saturday" or
- prepositions - "Every Sunday" or "on every Sunday"? - English Language ...It's something I do every Sunday. It's something I do on every Sunday. We normally don't use the preposition on" before time expressions beginning with each, every, next, last, this, etc.
- “On Sunday evening” or “In the Sunday evening”And for days, we use the preposition “on”, on Saturday, on Monday, on Tuesday,...so on. With respect to both of them being “nouns”, Sunday and evening. But I am confused of using them together. I met one of my friends on Sunday evening. Why do we use ON instead of: I met one of my friends in the evening of Sunday.
