Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” is a cryptic, beautiful and unsettling experience: transporting in the purest way. The writer-director of “The Witch,” “The Lighthouse” and “The Northman” is a rare filmmaker who seems capable of putting his modern consciousness aside when telling stories.
