- Insert a section break - Microsoft SupportUse sections breaks to divide and format documents of all sizes. For example, you can break down sections into chapters, and add formatting such as columns, headers and footers, page borders, to each. Select where you want a new section to begin. Go to Layout > Breaks. Next Page Section break starts the new section on the following page.
- Format or customize a table of contents - Microsoft SupportUse the settings to show, hide, and align page numbers, add or change the tab leader, set formats, and specify how many levels of headings to show.
