Passing is what a QB is supposed to do, and Fields is mostly average at doing it. And the Raiders defense is no juggernaut. Windows will be a lot tighter against quality opponents and throwing an accurate ball will be critical.

Early in Bens career, he was not putting the ball up 34 times a game. Kordell certainly wasn't either. During the Kordell era, Bettis got the ball on first and second down, and a lot of times Kordell would pull it down and run himself on third.
- How good would Kordell Stewart have been in this era?Jackson is more elusive than Stewart. He also has a better feel for avoiding the pass rush. Stewart's terrible pocket presence and erratic passing would have been just as big of a problem today as they were then. Stewart would have been more consistently effective, but Jackson would still be significantly better.

- How good would Kordell Stewart have been in this era?Pete Carrol decided to pressure him in the playoff game vs NE , and found the right formula. NE lost 7-6, but they showed that forcing Kordell to make quick decisions was a winning strategy. He’d get impatient and indecisive, within a year or two he was a borderline starter. Kordell was athletic, but Lamar is way more so, and a far better passer.
