Bookmark or Share- Differences in these guitars J200, J185, J150 and the J100?You can, like Arlo, get the J-100/-200/150 in purt' near anything you want, from koa to rosewood, maple to bubinga to mahogany -- although by default the J-200 and the J-150 are maple-bodied guitars, and the J-100 this year is a bubinga guitar. The J-185 is similar, in that it is typically maple.

- About the Plywood thing.. - Gibson Brands ForumsSame as Gibsons like the ES-335. Guild Starfires. Gretsch Nashvilles & Country Gents. Most thin lines will have a laminate body although some top of the line hollow body guitars like the L5 or Gretsch Country Club might have a solid spruce top. So don't be disappointed, some of the greatest guitars ever made had plywood bodies.
- Educate me on vintage SG guitars - Gibson Brands ForumsI own some guitars of other brands with Nylon nuts, and in contrast to Corian I never had any reason for complaints. I stand corrected, thanks for the clarification. I'm also compelled to think Gibson used nylon nuts for the SG atleast for the years it was still being called the Les Paul, haven't really seen evidence for bone nuts either.
- Why doesn't gibson make classical guitars?There are about 15 Brazilian Gibson classical guitars floating around Bozeman. Most owned by Gibson managers that just sort of took 'em home. Gibson made 25 Classical guitars for the late great Rodger Miller estate. These were modeled after the old Gibson "C" line and they were fine guitars. I tried to buy one but didn't get the job done.
