Bookmark or Share- Please help identify this cannon | Cannons / Artillery & Crew Served ...I’m almost certain that this is a signal cannon… it’s “LYNN”, not “LYLE” on the markings there, and the July 4, 1896 would have been the 120th anniversary of the United States and also coincided with the World’s Fair in Chicago… all the more reason to buy oneself a new signal cannon.
- Live and learn----A Model 1861 Contract rifle musket.Problem; Comments from an expert of N.J. contract guns. Unfortunately, my guess would be that you have a musket in which the barrel has been replaced by a barrel from a NJ contract Model 61 rifle musket, most likely a Savage or Trenton make or, conversely, a NJ gun in which the lockplate was swapped for a Muir.
- Actor/Director Clint Eastwood is a Member of the Sons of the ...Who would have ever thought that Clint Eastwood was a member of the SCV? Although he is California born, I guess one of his ancestors was Southern born and in the Confederate army. Anyone have any idea who Clint's Confederate ancestor was? Since I learned this, I have watched "The Outlaw Josie Wales" again and really enjoyed his performance.
