What charging cables come as standard with the Model Y in the United ...
The Tesla Superchargers do have permanently attached cables, so you don't need to bring anything to use those. A lot of public charging stations throughout Europe have the Type2 ports, but no cable, so a driver needs to supply the cable that has Type2 plugs on each end. But I don't know if Tesla includes that with the cars in the UK or not.
Issue with Charging Port Releasing After Multiple Attempts
When I finish charging and tap “Release Charge Port” in the Tesla app, the port doesn’t unlock on the first or second try. However, it consistently releases on the third attempt . Every time, I need to tap the option exactly three times for the charging cable to unlatch and disconnect so i can unplug the cable.

Looks like Tesla decided to go with an approach similar to the garden hose organizer, while taptes is still offering a solution similar to Tesla’s prior version where you can plug the handle in a holster. The wall charger has a 24 foot cable. I believe that (24 feet) is the longest that electrical code allows for level 2 chargers.
DIY Retracting Charging Cable. Took me 3 days to figure it all out.
Then had to run (3) #6 AWG and (4) #14 AWG (probably could have downsized the ground and the #14's) in the conduit to the fixed point where the cable attaches. Yes, I simply used a large cable clamp into the junction box knock out. As far as the strain on the charging cable itself, yeah, not enough to worry about.
