I would pair the khaki with a blue coat and the British Tan one with either olive or very dark brown . . . but I suspect it really doesn't make much difference. Half fashion plate, half slob, but aspiring to 'half country squire, half Flâneur'.

- stone vs khaki - Men's Clothing ForumsStone, regular khaki and dark khaki (british khaki) are all interchangeable in the in the summer. What you wear with stone, try with Khaki. I think Navy blazers look better with Khaki than Stone, also, IMHO, stone doesn't pair too well with white shirts, whereas khaki and British khaki do (a bit more contrast is helpful).

Posters are entirely right that strong colors (dark red, dark blue, dark green, etc.) will all work well with British tan. However, those are downright weird dress shirt colors. Go with white, light blue, or a light blue check or stripe. Then pair with your bold-colored tie.

I wear plenty of khaki, beige, stone, sand, and tan shades. They have their place with other similar colours, such as browns or navy blazers. I don't usually combine grey with them, but grey and taupe are nice sometimes.
