He's a brilliant visual stylist, but the knock on Zack Snyder as a director is that he too often neglects real storytelling in favor of pretty pictures. The latest Man of Steel trailer, however, suggests he may have made a quantum leap as a filmmaker.

Warner Bros. Pictures has released, via Yahoo! Movies, one version of the teaser trailer for director Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, coming to theaters on June 14, 2013. There is a second version of the teaser playing in theaters which features Russell Crowe's voice. The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan is producing the film.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Amy Adams will star in the coveted role of Lois Lane in the new Zack Snyder-directed Superman feature film. Snyder remarked, "Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about. So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful."

In an interview for this week's Oscar issue of Entertainment Weekly , Portman denied the rumors about her appearing in Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment's upcoming tentpole movies, Zack Snyder's Superman: The Man of Steel  and Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises .

The director says the new movie will focus on the early days of Clark Kent, and that its not based on any particular comic book story.

This week saw Hollywood announcing projects in overtime, with many movies not making the top 10 cut of the Ketchup that would have easily done so in other weeks.
